• Are your tours designed for children? If so, how much do you charge for kids?

Our tours are generally designed for adults, but your children are always welcome to join our tours. We suggest you discuss the tour with your children and see if they like the idea of joining it in the first place.

If children are 4 or under and are not participating in the food tastings, there is no cost. If they are aged 5-12, the child ticket price applies; if they are aged 13-17, the adolescent ticket price applies.

  • Are solo travelers welcome? How about couples?

You can book your private experience with us. You can do so by sending us an email request to welcome@epiculiar.tours .

  • Do you run private experiences?

Our experiences are designed as semi-private events as we do limit the size of the group up to 6 guests. If you want a full private experience instead, you can contact us via welcome@epiculiar.tours .

  • What if I am late? Can I get a refund or join another tour?

Please try to arrive 10 minutes before the departure time. If we can’t find you at the meeting place at the starting time, we will wait for up to ten minutes after which we will try to contact you by phone or email, unless we receive a call that you are running late (with the estimated time of arrival). If you are running late more than 20 min after the starting time and you still want to join the tour, please call us to find out where to meet us. If you miss any portion of the tour due to lateness, refunds will not be given, but we can always work something out (e.g. arrange joining another tour).

  • What is Epiculiar cancellation policy?

Within 1 day of your tour or activity date, tickets are fully refundable. If you cancel less than 24 hours before your tour, it will be non-refundable.

  • If the weather conditions are bad, will the tour be cancelled?

The tour will be canceled only if the conditions are truly extreme and if we think it might be harmful to our guests. We usually design our tours taking into account the possibility of bad weather. If we expect bad weather, we will inform you accordingly (e.g. “bring an umbrella”, “bring an extra bottle of water”, “dress appropriately”, etc.).

  • What happens when I book a tour?

When you complete your booking on our website, you will receive an automated order confirmation containing booking details.

  • Do I have to book in advance? Can I just arrive and pay cash?

You can book organized tours, in which case tickets for all tours must be purchased on our website. Walk ups or cash sales are also possible.

  • Can I speak to someone about my booking or to learn more about one of your tours?

Yes. If you have the need, you can call us and get a detailed explanation in English.

  • Why didn't I get a reply to my inquiry?

We always respond to all inquiries. If you have not received a response within a reasonable time frame (24 hrs usually), please check your junk folder or, if you cannot find the response in your junk mail, please send us a message again.

  • Why do I need to fill in the form?

We ask certain questions only for one reason, and that is to be able to contact you if we need to (in case of late arrival for example). It is our concern to create a pleasant experience that you’ll fully enjoy! We don’t store, use or misuse the information we receive.

  • Are the prices all-inclusive?

Yes! Forget about money for a while. Just sit back and relax, we will be making all the payments.

  • How can I pay?

We request a deposit payment upfront that we use to make the required reservations and bookings. It can be paid easily via credit card. The balance is payable also in cash at the end of the experience.

  • Can I pay in Euros?

Yes, of course. Please note that the price in Euros is quoted on our website for your convenience only and may change as the exchange rate fluctuates. The fixed price of the tour is in Euros.

  • Can I use a card?

Yes, you can pay with your credit card.

  • Can I pay the balance online, too?

Yes. We have to charge a some surcharge on top of the balance payment to cover the associated transaction costs. Thank you for understanding.

  • Are tips included in the price?

Gratuities are not included in your ticket price, and they are always welcome.

  • Are gift certificates available?

Yes. Gift certificates are available and make a great present for anyone who is visiting Greece.

  • What’s the difference between the tours?

    Please read more at www.epiculiar.tours/tours

  • Are we going to do some sightseeing?

Epiculiar tours are not typical sightseeing tours. They rather focus on the local lifestyle experience which does not necessarily involve sights, or at least the main sights. As we walk around, we will in most cases stumble upon sights.

  • When do the experiences start?

The information about time will be provided immediately upon your booking. We generally like to organize our tours around brunch time, but tour times differ throughout the day. If you have a specific request regarding the start and end of the tour, please send us an email at welcome@epiculiar.tours .

  • How do I recognize my foodie guide?

Your host will be wearing a recognizable Epiculiar branded accessory or clothing item.

  • Where do the tours start?

The meeting point for your tour is stated on each tour page. We arrange all of our tours and activities within easy reach of all modes of public transport.

  • Where do tours end?

Tours may not end at the meeting point. Our hosts are always happy to help you find transportation, call a taxi for you or point you in the right direction.

  • How long do tours and activities run for?

The duration differs depending on the tour. Some of the durations are:

    • 2.5 hours
    • 4 hours
    • 6 hours
  • What is the tour group size?

The maximum number of people on each tour is 6 people. For bigger groups contact us at welcome@epiculiar.tours .

  • How much walking is there?

Depends on the tour you take. For roughly 1/2 of the time you will be on your feet. The tours are led at a very casual pace. Wear comfortable shoes in any case.

  • Are your tours wheelchairs accessible?

Unfortunately, due to spacing and stairs, (some of our tours) they are not. Please inquire about specific accessibility requirements when booking.

  • Are there restrooms available?

Yes, they are available at most of the food tasting locations for all of tours.

  • Are cameras permitted?

Of course they are! We encourage you to take photos and share them with us! Remember to tag us on social media.

  • Can I shop?

It’s possible to shop at the open market where you’ll have several minutes to buy some items. There are no options for shopping on our other tours in order to keep within our schedule. Food is being prepared fresh for you at each tasting stop.

  • Are your tours only available in English?

At the current time tours are hosted in English, German and Greek.

  • How much food is there?

You can check the amount of food on every tour. We promise you, you won’t leave any tour hungry!

  • What beverages are served on your tours and in your classes?

In addition to the coffee, wine and other alcoholic drinks served during our tours, water (sparkling or natural) is served during all sit down meal times.

  • Do you cater for vegetarians/vegans/lactose intolerant/celiacs? What about allergies?

When you make your booking, we ask what dietary restrictions you have. We do our best to accommodate every preference, restrictions or allergies.

Vegetarians and vegans are welcomed to join our tours, but please take note that in such cases, a limited assortment of dishes should be expected since Greek cuisine focuses on many products you don’t eat. We could, of course, serve some vegan/vegetarian dishes on your demand, but that of course won’t be true representation of the Greek cuisine. We do write this only to avoid any disappointments later and show you what to expect.

Unfortunately, we are unable to make substitutions for individuals with gluten or lactose intolerance. ILI Celiacs (people with gluten allergy) and lactose intolerant people are welcome to join our walks, with a slightly modified and/or limited assortment of dishes.

If you have food allergies or intolerances and decide to try tastings in addition to those that have been specially catered for you, please be aware that you do so at your own risk and the company assumes no responsibility.

  • I don't drink alcohol. Can I get a discount?

No, but we can provide non-alcoholic options.
